At Little Explorers Nursery, we believe that children learn when they are having fun. Children daily take part in planned and child initiated activities, which support children’s learning and development with effective teaching. We provide learning opportunities in line with the EYFS as well as opportunities that strengthen the child’s physical, emotional and social skills.
The curriculum at Little Explorers also incorporates the following key areas that will help to make a difference and to create a strong foundation for your child’s future and preparing them for school:
Every week we learn about new science phenomena that encourage the children to explore, problem solve, observe, predict, think, make decisions and talk, learning about the world around them.
At Little Explorers, maths is about learning numbers, measuring and showing an awareness of time, shapes, patterns and space, recognising size and weight and working with money.
Reading, chatting away in funny voices as we flick through picture books, enjoying listening to stories by practitioners or other children, singing nursery rhymes can all spark communication and literacy learning.
Art is used to improve motor skills, improve language development and decision making, it is used to improve visual learning, inventiveness and imagination as well as to promote cultural awareness. .
At the Little Explorers Cookery Club, children are encouraged to cook from an early age, developing key skills outlined in the EYFS framework, such as time, measuring, counting and weighing.
We love exploring and celebrating the world around us. Through play and focused activities we learn to communicate and connect with our environment and others with awe and wonder.
Spanish lessons introduce the children to the everyday words in Spanish including numbers and colours. Each weekly lesson combines fun with exciting games, songs and activities.
Through magical story based music and dance the activities encourage communication, observation, problem solving, thought sharing and decision making! All with a performance for parents twice a year.
Equipment such as the high-bar, balancing cushions, trampoline, agility ladder focus on building confidence, co-ordination, concentration, turn taking and improving gross motor skills.
All children are taught by experienced and qualified coaches that are DBS checked.
We love our parents, so feel free to visit us.
